The only deck coating system with Class A & B fire ratings โ installed by a Certified Master Installer right here in the valley.
If you live anywhere from Kelowna to Osoyoos, you know wildfire isn't an abstract risk. It's a seasonal reality. Embers land on decks. Decks catch. Properties burn.
FlexStone is the only deck coating system I know of that takes fire performance this seriously โ and it's one of the primary reasons I became a certified installer. When a product this well-engineered is available, it's the right thing to offer.
Class A fire rating (the highest) means the surface has been tested against severe fire exposure. Class B means sustained fire exposure. FlexStone System X qualifies for both.
Talk About Your Deck ProjectFlexStone is a professional-grade waterproof urethane membrane coating system manufactured in the USA and distributed across North America. It's not a paint, not a thin-film epoxy, and not a DIY product.
The System X flagship โ which Stone Gate Contracting installs โ goes on at 100 mils thick with a textured stone finish. That's roughly 8ร thicker than a typical deck paint. Once cured, it forms a seamless, waterproof membrane that moves with the substrate through seasonal expansion and contraction.

A proper FlexStone installation is a multi-stage system. Every step matters. This is why the certified installer designation exists โ the manufacturer trains and vets installers to make sure it's done correctly.
Request a QuoteThe existing surface is cleaned, degreased, and any damaged areas are repaired. Proper prep is the foundation of a long-lasting installation โ we don't cut corners here.
A penetrating primer is applied to bond the FlexStone system to the substrate. This ensures adhesion through freeze-thaw cycles and seasonal movement.
The urethane membrane is applied in full thickness. For System X this means 100 mils of seamless coverage โ the fire-rated, waterproof core of the system.
Aggregate is broadcast into the wet membrane to create the stone-like texture. This also provides the slip resistance for wet conditions.
A UV-resistant top coat seals everything and provides colour. Once cured, your deck is ready โ waterproof, fire-rated, and ready for the Okanagan seasons.
Stone Gate Contracting installs the full range of FlexStone systems. System X is our flagship recommendation for outdoor decks โ but the right system depends on your surface and application.
Textured stone finish, 100 mils thick. Outdoor sundecks and roof decks. Class A & B fire rated. Our most popular system.
Solid colour finish. Smooth, contemporary look for covered decks and surfaces where a clean colour is preferred over texture.
Polyaspartic garage floor coating. High gloss, chemical resistant, built for vehicle traffic. Makes your garage floor look exceptional.
Vehicular-grade system for driveways and high-traffic surfaces. Engineered for heavier loads than a standard residential deck.
FlexStone adheres to a wide range of substrates โ if you've got a surface that needs waterproofing and protection, there's likely a FlexStone system for it.
The most common application โ second-storey and ground-level outdoor decks that take direct sun, rain, and snow. System X is made for this.
Flat or low-slope roof surfaces used as outdoor living space. Waterproofing is non-negotiable here โ FlexStone's seamless membrane is ideal.
Patios, walkways, pool surrounds. FlexStone bonds to concrete and hides the cracks and discolouration that make bare concrete look tired.
System Y (polyaspartic) transforms concrete garage floors into a durable, high-gloss surface that's easy to clean and actually looks like it belongs in a nice home.
Slip-resistant, UV-resistant, and waterproof โ FlexStone is well-suited to pool deck applications where safety and durability are both priorities.
Ask. If it's a surface that needs protection and waterproofing, there's a good chance FlexStone works on it. We'll assess your specific situation.
FlexStone doesn't let just anyone install their product and call it a certified job. The Certified Master Installer designation requires direct training from the manufacturer โ product knowledge, application technique, surface preparation standards, and quality benchmarks.
For you as a customer, that means a few things:
Stone Gate Contracting holds Certified Master Installer status with FlexStone. That certification is earned and maintained โ it's not a logo on a website.
